A great thought for a Sunday....

I've seen this one now in a couple of places. Not sure whose it is, so we'll leave it as an Author unknown.

"Life isn't about how to survive the storm, but how you dance in the rain."

It is a great one to mull over and think about. I can think of a zillion times about how I have danced and sometimes not very well at all. This is definitely on my think list for the week.

okay and.........

Largesse (say lar-jess) noun money or gifts generously given

from The South African Oxford School Dictionary

Not too shabby guys. You did way better than me. I was like......uhmmm clueless. LOL

Fun in the sun

I'm not going to spill the beans just yet on the definition of the word. Wonder if anybody else will play. But suffice to say - those who have commented are close and even right. Going to have to find more difficult words. LOL

As usual we were running a tad late but we got setup and greeted old and new friends. My approach for the day was to go in with NO expectations. I was not going to guess if we would do well or do bad. In the end we did okay and that was fine because deep down and the part I didn't share with anyone was that I wasn't expecting to do okay at all. Okay, I'm a nut.

What I did notice is that my stock is low. And the good news is that the new fresh bottle of oxygen has arrived and I'm hoping to put it to work tomorrow. Next month Spring is here - so I must get my thinking cap on and do something different but what. LOL

Bailey came along for the day. He really drew attention, although I'm not sure how keen he was on all the attention but deep down he was enjoying every minute of it even if it did tire him out.

Some friends from where we used to live came by. It was really great meeting up with them and catching up. They had moved out of the complex a while ago and are now moving back. The good news is is that they are moving back. Woohoo!! It will be great to have her closer again.

It was nice seeing some really innovative items. One that was really cool, could be used for a variety of things. I'll have to take a pic of it. But it clips to your desk or worktable. Is made of strong denim and holds pencils, art supplys or whatever you need it to hold. They had older kids (in there teens) who were great and had fun taking Bailey for walks. I owe them big time. :)) These markets are great family events where the whole family gets involved and it's great to see. Mental reminder to take my camera with me next time.

All in all it was a good day. I have faith in the economy even if it is small but there was most certainly a glimmer of hope today.

I'm now chilling with a glass of wine. Dinner is Boerewors, mash and gravy with some salad. Not to shabby!!

Hope you're having a fab weekend wherever you are.

Firstly, NO peaking in a dictionary!!!

Today's word:

Largesse

So without looking in a dictionary - let me know what you think it means.

Come on - we all need a good laugh!!

Dictionary rambles........

Just my thoughts, nobody elses but it's had me puzzled most of the day. Is the person using a really BIG (need a dictionary) word because that is who they are or because they want you to feel like an idiot with little or no education or could it be they just believe that they are far more superior than anyone else. Remember these are just my thoughts!!!

Today while reading a blog. Don't worry - it was not one on my favourites list. There was this really big word. Not big as in long but a WTH moment. Okay, so I pull out the dictionary. An 'aha' moment and not all is lost. I learnt the meaning of a new word, although I still think saying it simply would have sounded way much better, but then that is me.

Have you got an interesting word for me. Maybe instead of a 'Thought for the day', I should have a 'Word for the day'. What do you think??

That Mythical Creature..........

My mythical creature, the Supermom / wife!! Does she truly exist or is it just a myth??

Ant caught a glimpse of my blog and asks the BIG question. Why did you fail?? Well, I didn't get everything done that I needed too, so I failed. He thought what I'd accomplished was an A++. Hmmmm, do we judge ourselves too much?? Do we put way too much pressure on ourselves to be the BEST at everything we do?? The pressure, the stress...............!!!

He then asked me who I thought was representative of my 'mythical creature'. My immediate answer was my sister. She has the patience of a saint, all the energy in the world and is a natural with kids. She goes here, there and everywhere and things are never a problem. He then reminded me that she has a fulltime, live-in maid.

The big question: will I find the time to melt glass?? I sincerely hope so.
I had better. I just ordered some more yummy boro colours. I also love the fact that I am supporting a company that is doing it's best to be 'green'.

What's up this weekend??
Well if my oxygen ever arrives. Hopefully some serious molten glass moments. We also have our monthly Urban Market. Wondering if a Winter Sale is in order to make some space for new stuff!! S*P*R*I*N*G is on it's way........I can feel it!! LOL She's around the corner, waiting to breathe a blast of freshness and newness all over. I'm getting excited. Warm summer evenings - heaven!! Nothing like it. (Huge smiles)
Have a blast this Friday, whatever you do. I am going to make a Pomegranate Martini, come what may.
