Two nights ago a very special friend passed away. His wife (Lynn), daughter (Julie) and grand-daughter (Paige) are very special to me and my family. I had so hoped he would be with us for Christmas, to hang on that bit longer but it was not meant to be. That same morning that Julie let me know is the same morning I had a petty argument with Anthony over Christmas and gift buying. Looking back, a very stupid fight.
I can only hope that I can teach my boys that it is in the giving that we receive. That it is not about how many presents are under the tree but what is under the tree. That there are others for whom Christmas is just another day. And that above everything else being with the ones you love is the most important gift of all......
Any thoughts, I'd love to hear them.......

Michelle,
You have left me misty eyed with your post. I'm so sorry your friend couldn't hang on until Christmas, but it seems his death is already bringing about caring and understanding which are pretty big gifts. A pretty big tribute. He will live on in your memory and will be with you as long as you remember. Hugs to you and his family.
Maggie
