Beautifully Disguised!!

Blacksmith Lapwing (Plover)

Found at the bottom of our garden near the veggie patch. Mom and Dad hopefully feasting on bugs and not my baby veggies. The water is also going but not risking being dive bombed again by an upset mommy and daddy or having the dogs who trail along finding the baby. Although mom and dad do a good job of luring the dogs away from the little one.

back later.............

Awww... I hope Mom and Dad managed to get it to safety... I keep the birds out of my garden... by putting a big old feeder and bird bath near by... when food is plentiful, they leave my garden alone :-)

Oh, those have to be related to what we call killdee's (actually, killdeer). I have never, ever, gotten a look at the babies. Those pics of the baby are fabulous!
